Artist’s statement:
I am determinant of incompleteness, incompliant with the norm because I am Deaf and do not use speech. I analyse the potential of incompleteness and completeness while talking about them in the existential dimension. I consider the possibility to satisfy the expectation of completeness or express a protest against it. I seek the limit of ambivalence. My artistic practice is the starting point for reflection upon the ways of existence. It is based on research, in which I use the stories of the incomplete and complete ones. I observe their experiences and their interpersonal relationships. The way how we are perceived by other individuals. My works concern the mechanism of power over biology, social and linguistic communication, and social policy. They often refer to the notion of bio-power and bio-politics. Based on my own experiences and observations I develop an original strategy of managing my communication tool or my body. I restore the memory about incompleteness. I work in various forms of expression: performances, designs, installations, photographs, objects, and videos.
