Nadia Markiewicz

Nadia Markiewicz (1992, Warsaw). A graduate of the Studio of Spatial Activities of prof. Mirosław Bałka at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She also studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and at the University of Warsaw. She completed an internship at the Studio of Performance at FaVU VUT in Brno, led by Julie Béna and Jakub Jansa. Awarded with the Europe Beyond Access award by Zachęta National Gallery of Art and British Council (2021). Participant of the School Of Expressions at PLATO in Ostrava (2019) and Kem School in Warsaw (2021). She has realized individual exhibitions: Blue Valley (Sto Lat Gallery, New York 2021), Souvenir (Terminal08, Gorzów Wlkp. 2021), one armed bandit (Punkt Odbioru Sztuki, Łódź 2019); and performative actions in, among others, Zachęta (2021), BWA Warszawa (2021), Galeria Labirynt (2017, 2018) and at the Survival Art Review (2018). Deals with the topics of time, entertainment and disability through installations, videos and performative activities.
